Welcome to the Trust Me, Buy This newsletter! Now that we've reached peak summer and are experiencing record-breaking heat here on the East Coast, I figured it would be an appropriate time for my shorts edit. As you may or may not know, I love a good pair of shorts, and this season, there just so happens to be an abundance of trendy and cool options. There are so many pairs I've been wanting to get my hands on, from pajama-inspired styles to tailored Bermuda shorts to the countless in-betweeners, so I turned to NET-A-PORTER to really test out and try on all the pairs on my wish list to then share with you. Starting off with the black Dôen shorts I'm wearing above, these were the first shorts I tried on from my haul, and I actually went to the site to order them for myself immediately. They are ever-so-slightly sheer because of the broderie anglaise material but not so much that you feel overly exposed. I styled them with a butter-yellow Toteme shirt—because why not?—and my trusty white tank and sandals. Prepare to see me in this outfit again!

Next up, the Posse bloomer style is one I've wanted to try on for the longest time, and I'm glad to say it really did live up to the hype. I liked the shorts with the matching top but could imagine getting a lot of use out of them on their own too. The Proenza Schouler White Label pair also looked perfect and polished with the coordinating button-down. For me, this was the most versatile outfit that I could see myself using constantly this season, whether it's for day or night. When you see it up close, the material has such a good feeling, and the shirt is rife with small details that make it exceptional. Last but certainly not least, the most surprising hit from my order was the $44 Skims boxers that I threw in at the last minute just out of intrigue. As you've likely seen or heard, boxer shorts are very much trending this summer, and I wanted to test out a more classic pajama-style pair. The verdict: I'm obsessed with them. I styled them very casually here with a tank and Birkenstocks but could imagine them looking so cool dressed up with a shirt and leather sandals or slingbacks.
